He is your jeans-and-T-shirt guy and nowhere inclined towards fashion — he happens to be designer Rohit Bal's nephew. Aditya Bal, English Literature (honours) student from Delhi started his career with Ashish Soni's Fall/Winter collection after he was spotted in a pub by the latter. There was no looking back. He went on to be the face for Diesel, Levi's, Castle Lager and the rest of the scorching brands. Film director Afzal Ahmed is right when he says, "he is just the kind of guy any girl would be attracted to," as he casts him for the lead role for his forthcoming flick.
Pitted against him and as Mashooka, is the Kaliyon ka chaman, mana Vijayawada girl who gets to play a whole gamut of roles — bubbly, romantic and finally a psychotic lover! "It was a challenging role. This happens to be my third film," explains Meghna.
One step towards homeland, she is doing a Tamil flick, T. Rajendar's Veerasamy, apart from the Hindi releases Jackpot (a suspense edge-of-the-chair thriller), Rain (where she plays a blind girl) and Karan Razdan's supernatural Eight.
"For an actor it doesn't matter what genre he or she is working with," she says. Agrees Aditya, "when it comes to acting, you have it in you or you don't. As for my role in Mashooka, I had to work on this character by putting myself in the situation," he says as he looks forward to Rajesh Singh's sit-com flick.
"I will be playing a mother of five in my forthcoming flick and wouldn't mind playing a mother-in- law. The role has to be such that people can relate their lives to the story," adds Meghna as she looks forward, in real life, to settling down with hotelier boyfriend Rajesh Shetty sometime later. For now, watch the two scorch the silver screen as the flick hits the silver screen on July 1.
